Abstract. The control function of the representative bodies is equally as important as the legislative one. That is to say that not only should the regulations be “technically” adopted, but its subsequent implementation and violations should be monitored. The use of various parliamentary control methods is a preventive measure which is necessary for upholding and executing these regulations both on the federal and regional levels. Based on the general principles of organizing the system of government authority within constituent units of the Russian Federation, established by the federal law, regions have the right to develop their own regulatory framework in order to effectively administer parliamentary control. The article encompasses constituent unit regulations (charters), as well as regional laws, determining the main directions and forms of parliamentary control and outlining its separate forms.
